SASSDA - The South African
Stainless Steel Development Association, responsible for
the development of the stainless steel mark (see top right
hand emblem on this page), was formed in 1964 to assist
in the increasing the awareness and correct use of stainless
steel in Southern Africa.
Sassda
offer a comprehensive technical advice service which covers
all aspects of the stainless steel industry. They are
also involved in the the education and training of stakeholders
in the stainless steel industry.
A wide range of publications are also available to increase
the awareness of stainless steel applications. In addition,
educational and training leaflets have been developed
to assist in the training and education of fabricators
and specifiers.
Sassda
developed a Stainless Steel Awards program in 1998, with
a follow up in 2000. It is the first program of this nature
in the world, covering the full spectrum of activity in
the stainless steel industry. It was designed to promote
excellence by stimulating creativity, competitiveness
and productivity.
